Is it possible to actually miter 16" HDPE piping & fuse the mitered ends together, or would you need to use mitered fittings with a squared end? Thanks Matt J. |

You miter the ends with a saw and use mitered inserts. |

To expand a little bit on what Josh is saying: The miter inserts are designed to produce a more balanced application of interfacial pressure for the fusion joint. They are also designed to produce a better grip on the pipes being miter fused. It is best to use inserts which are specifically designed for mitered fusion for these reasons. |
