Hi Guys

We have a Dyna Mc / any 240 supply needed for a 6-15R plug.

We seem have a issue with the 240v 6-15P Nema plug supply ( "C" in the McElroy plug ref )

Contractors often don't have that outlet on site and their generators don't have it on.

I can't find a 6500w generator with it on.

I thought about getting a cord made up going from a 240 twist lock L15-30P ( like the one "F" in the McElory reference ) to a 6-15R, I am guessing you would need a inline 15 amp breaker?, there does not seem to be one online anywhere for sale.

Your thoughts would be appreaciated.

We have that style twist lock in our training center for 3 phase 240. I would check with the generator manufacturer and see what they have to say. I wonder what they would say about pulling from 2 legs to get single phase (unbalanced load). I would also want to know how much I would need to de-rate the generator output.

This would also tell you if the generator had breakers on each leg and thus if you needed to add one. My suspicion is that they are usually built in.

So in essence I have said a lot to tell you nothing. I must be a lawyer or something...
