I own a 14 machine and the heating plate that goes with it. When using it the other day the plate would not get hot enough to actually be able to fuse. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how you went about fixing it.

First off, what is the model of the heater? Is it a plastic handle heater or wood handle heater? what kind of amperage is it drawing? Are you gauging temperature by the thermometer or actually measuring temp. of the plates with a pyrometer? These heaters are simple to trouble shoot with a voltohm meter

Troubleshooting is the same on the 14 heater except for your values.
It should pull 10 amps.
The resistance reading from h1 to h2 on the board should be 12 ohms.
